Talentos latinos figuran entre los nominados a los Premios Critics Choice, anunciados este miércoles, con coincidencias notables respecto de las recientes candidaturas a los Globos de Oro: La española "La sociedad de la nieve" opta al galardón a mejor película extranjera, y el afrolatino Colman Domingo a mejor actor protagonista, por "Rustin". Pero, además, el director de fotografía mexicano Rodrigo Prieto ha sido citado por dos títulos, "Barbie" y "Killers of the Flower Moon" y América Ferrera podría ser declarada mejor actriz de reparto por "Barbie".
Precisamente la comedia de vocación feminista y limitado humor, "Barbie" es la que domina los Critics Choice, con unas tan abultadas como discutibles 18 nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor Película, Director, Guión y destacando con cinco nominaciones de actuación.
Tras su notable actuación en las nominaciones a los Globos de Oro, donde obtuvo impresionantes nueve menciones, el fenómeno de Mattel ha duplicado su total con la Critics Choice Association, dejando atrás a sus competidores. Siguiendo de cerca a la muñeca Barbie se encuentran "Oppenheimer" de Christopher Nolan y "Poor Things" de Searchlight, ambas con un respetable total de 13 nominaciones cada una. Una menos tiene "Killers Of The Flower Moon" de Martin Scorsese.
